FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (REMOTE SERVICES — NATIONWIDE)
Be In The Know
Remote Process

1) Do you work with clients nationwide?
Yes. We work with clients across the United States using a secure remote process. There is no need for in-person meetings.

2) How does remote service work?
You complete a short intake, upload documents securely, and we review what you provided. If anything is missing or unclear, we ask targeted questions. You review the completed work, approve, and then we e-file (for tax returns) or deliver monthly reports (for bookkeeping).

3) What’s the best way to communicate?
Email is preferred for record-keeping and clarity. If needed, we can schedule a short call for complex items or time-sensitive questions.

Tax Preparation

4) What documents do I need to upload for tax preparation?
Common documents include W-2s, 1099s (NEC/MISC/INT/DIV/B), mortgage interest (1098), education (1098-T), childcare, and any other tax forms you received. If you have self-employment, rentals, or investment activity, we may request an income/expense summary and supporting statements.

5) Do you handle self-employed income, rentals, and stock sales?
Yes. We prepare returns that include self-employed income (Schedule C), rental properties (Schedule E), and investment activity (1099-B and brokerage summaries). We’ll confirm scope based on your documents and situation.

6) Can you file multi-state returns?
Yes, when required based on where you lived and/or worked during the year. Multi-state filings are priced based on the number of states and complexity.

7) How long does tax preparation take?
Turnaround depends on complexity and how quickly documents are provided. After intake, we’ll set expectations based on your return and current workload.

8) Do you e-file?
Yes. After you review the return and approve it, we complete the e-file authorization process and submit the return electronically.

9) What if I’m missing a tax form?
If something appears to be missing, we’ll tell you what it is and why it matters. In many cases, you can retrieve it from an employer, bank, brokerage, or by using IRS transcript options.

Pricing and Scope

10) How do you price tax preparation?
Tax preparation is priced based on complexity (forms required, number of states, and the completeness of your records). We confirm scope and fee before finalizing and filing.

11) How do you price bookkeeping?
Monthly bookkeeping is priced based on transaction volume, number of accounts, and whether cleanup/catch-up work is needed. After a quick review, we recommend the right level of service.

Security and Privacy

12) How do you keep my information secure?
We use secure document transfer, controlled access, and standard safeguards to protect sensitive information. We do not sell or share client data.

After Filing / Support

13) Can you help if I receive an IRS or state notice?
Yes. If you receive a notice, send it to us promptly so we can review it and advise on next steps. Notice work is typically handled as a separate service.

14) Do you offer tax planning?
Yes. Tax planning is available for clients who want proactive guidance during the year (estimated taxes, withholding adjustments, and strategy for self-employed and small business situations).
